I often talk about putting yourself out there, particularly in the world of social media and LinkedIn. Personally, recording and posting videos scared me a lot. Writing a book scared me, too. Speaking in public was terrifying. But, instead of giving up and hiding out, I leaned into each of those fears and became more comfortable with them over time.
Here’s my challenge for you: Notice what you’re afraid of. Pick one of those things and just do it. It could be posting a LinkedIn video, writing a blog, giving a talk, hosting an event, reaching out to someone who’s kind of big-time or famous, or simply asking for a referral.
Identify the action that will help move the needle and most impact your business, the one that will reach the greatest amount of people to a degree that scares you a little. Then commit to doing it anyway. I promise that it will help grow your business, and you’ll experience deep fulfillment when you acknowledge and power through your fear.
Onward.
