Posting and Your Personal Brand

When building your personal brand, it’s essential to curate and create meaningful, quality content on networking sites like LinkedIn. Here are three simple reminders to help you stand out.

  1. Post and create content you’re passionate about. It doesn't always have to be about your area of professional expertise; topics such as meaning, balance, leadership, or psychology are fair game, too. Find content that you care about and that will inspire more posting, reposting, and overall engagement.
  1. Commit to a consistent cadence. This is the most important tip and the hardest. If you're going to post on LinkedIn, plan to do so once a day, once a week, once a month, whatever, for at least three months. People will get used to hearing from you, and you'll build a rhythm and a following.
  1. Find an accountability buddy. We all need an accountability buddy when we’re establishing a new habit. Partner with someone who is lovingly challenging and encouraging, someone who will remind you to post and will be disappointed if you don't.

Your personal brand is shaped by your online presence, but only if you put yourself out there passionately, consistently, and with support and accountability from someone who cares. Give it a try.

Onward.
