Effective Initial Conversations with Prospects

To make the most out of initial conversations with prospects, remember that your comfort is key.

I see too many folks deferring to the prospect’s process and not actually anchoring in works best for them. You get to decide what works best for you. Consider…

  • Would you prefer to meet in person, via Zoom, or on the phone? At home or in your car? Walking, standing, or sitting?
  • Do you like to have a bunch of stakeholders in the initial meeting, or would you prefer to speak with one person before involving a bigger group?
  • What other factors are required for you to be listening, fully present, and engaged in dynamic conversation?

Those may seem like minor details, but all of it matters when you're having prospecting conversations. Determine your meeting preferences, anchor into your process, and effective communication will be had.

Onward.
